Leila Karam has joined First Generation, a full-service marketing communications agency as its office manager. She is responsible for overseeing all business administration and accounting services that are crucial to the daily operations of the company. Previously, Leila held the positions of ratings analyst at Guardian Life Insurance, senior title clerk at RothRock Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram, and bank teller at Wells Fargo. She earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from DeSales University. She also has an associate’s degree in paralegal science. She resides in Northampton County.
Pat Amabile, owner of the Shipping Depot, has the distinction of being the first electronic notary in Lawrence County. Pat applied to the Department of State for authorization to provide the service. He traveled to Allegheny County to learn how electronic notarization works and then contracted with a company that stores the notarized documents. His customers must still appear in person before him. Once the documents are notarized, he can transmit them to their destinations electronically. Pat can also provide an “e-signature” service for documents that do not require notarization but need a permanent record of signed documents.
The John Yurconic Agency announced an expansion of their notary services with the inclusion of fingerprinting for the completion of background checks. Owner and President John T. Yurconic said the fingerprint service is available at their Cedar Crest and Hoovertown Avenue locations in Lehigh County and may be used as part of background checks for numerous entities such as the Department of Human Services, Department of Education, Department of Transportation and the Pennsylvania State Police.
