PAN Member Loves Work and Canine Companion

by PAN
For Irene Paden, working as a notary and motor vehicle agent is just as much fun as spending time with Cubby, her Yorkie.

A resident of Venango County, Irene became a notary prior to attending college. Notary work has been her livelihood for 45 years.

“I worked at automobile dealerships for many years and joined with another lady and worked with her for several years,” said Irene. “I finally opened my own office at the end of my home. Everyone says it is pretty and of course it is convenient for me.”

Her constant companion at the office is Cubby, a show dog who does tricks and serves as a therapy dog and customer service representative for Irene’s notary business.

“He meets all the customers and they just love him. I take him into nursing homes, hospitals and other places and we put on shows. He loves to dress up and has more clothes than I do,” Irene said with a laugh.

Cubby’s tricks include playing his piano and riding a skateboard.

In addition to training Cubby on new tricks, Irene enjoys reading, line dancing, and notary work.

Irene has been a member of PAN most of her life, she said, and has recommended PAN to other notaries.

“It is a real pleasure to have PAN there for me to call if the need is necessary. I usually speak to Cheryl Sayre. She is always so pleasant and ready to help,” she added.

Irene would love to hear from other PAN members. You can E-mail her at [email protected].
