Common Problems Found During PennDOT Audits
The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) helps to ensure its authorized agents comply with the law, PennDOT regulations and their contract provisions through periodic audits. Agents can easily correct the most common deficiencies found by PennDOT auditors.
- Agent copies of motor vehicle forms and supporting documents are not properly organized.
- Temporary registration permits (window permits) are not retained in the booklet.
- Copies of supporting documents are not included with agent copies of motor vehicle forms.
- Paperwork is not completed fully, including the agent's DIN and the customer's driver's license of identification number.
- Certificates of completion for employee training are not on filed.
- Employee affidavits are not on file.
- Criminal history checks are not on file.
- Unauthorized personnel are at the agent location.
- The agent has accepted non-PA drive'rs license or ID, fraudulent Id or no ID to complete paperwork.
- The agent has not performed Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) verifications when required.
- Motor vehicle paperwork has not been submitted in the required time-frame.
