PAN Tutorials Geared to Help Members Learn

by PAN
To help our members learn about the new notary law - RULONA - we created a series of informative tutorials, which are posted on the Member Portal. If you haven't had an opportunity to browse through the selection, we urge you to do so.

There are nine tutorials in all and four cover notary acts:
  • Witnessing or attesting a signature
  • Certified or attested copy or deposition
  • Verification on oath or affirmation
  • Acknowledgment
Each of these tutorials leads you step-by-step through the notarial process and includes questions along the way to encourage learning. If you are hesitant about a certain notary act, you can always click into the Member Portal for a mini refresher course.

If you are scheduled to take the Pearson VUE notary exam, the RULONA Overview Course and the Notary Exam Test Preparation tutorials are great ways to prepare for the exam.

In addition, there's a tutorial on how to properly fill out your notary application, just in case you need a little guidance. If you are still using your old register, you may want to review the Notary Journal tutorial that shows how to adapt your register to include the new and required entries.

Last but not least is the Identifying Your Customer tutorial that goes into detail about the law's new mandates on properly identifying your customers.

REMEMBER:  PAN's tutorials do not count toward the three hours of required notary education. Only state-approved education (PAN's live First Time Notary and Notary Reqppointment Seminars, and PANcourse Online) fulfills the three-hour education mandate. PAN's tutorials are offered only as a service and resource for our members.
