What You Learn at Motor Vehicle Training

by PAN

All agent services and card agents under contract with the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) are required to have PennDOT-certified training. Individuals who are primarily involved in completing motor vehicle transactions and who are responsible for the accuracy of motor vehicle applications must attend either basic or advanced refresher training, according to their date of hire and years of experience. This can include business owners, corporate officers, title clerks, finance and insurance personnel, and office managers as well as their employees.

PennDOT-approved motor vehicle education providers must use the same instructional materials contained in a training manual developed by PennDOT.

The Basic Title and Registration Training Course and the Advanced Refresher Agent Services Training Course share a common core of instruction. Some topics in the basic course (shown in bold type in the list) are not repeated in the advanced course.

Proof of attendance for all individuals who require training may be requested during an audit or investigation, or at any time when an agent service or card agent is not in full compliance with their contract.
