Using Social Media to Grow Your Notary Business

by PAN

Social media is more than a place to share funny videos of cats with your family and friends. Notaries can use social media as a powerful marketing tool to help attract new customers and build lasting relationships with them.

Before you start using social media for your notary business, remember that social media marketing isn’t as easy as posting anything on the page when you have time. Having a strategy in place is key to running a successful social media page. Creating a business page separate from your personal profile is the first step. To help you plan your design, ask yourself:
  • What is the goal of my page?
  • Who is my target audience?
  • How do I want to portray my business?
  • What kind of content do I want to post?
  • How can I stand out from other notaries in my area?
Once you have a clear goal and brand established, begin posting regularly. Consistency is key with both the quantity and quality of your posts. Posting multiple times each week will not be effective if the information is not relevant to your brand. Be sure to keep posting regularly on your page so your followers do not assume the page is inactive and unfollow you.

Use the page to interact with your target audience by responding to comments and messages in a timely manner. Customers may contact your page without visiting your website and it is your responsibility to follow up to build credibility. Commenting on other notary pages and joining notary communities with your business page can also get your name out to more potential customers.

Networking has transitioned from business meetings and social events to online interactions on social media platforms. Social media marketing is one of the most relevant ways to promote your business in this digital era and stand out from the competition.
