Act 64 Exempts Some Limited POAs

by PAN

A bill signed into law by Gov. Tom Wolf on July 23 exempts limited powers of attorney (POAs) used to sell, purchase or transfer manufactured homes from expiring in 90 days.

The usual 90-day expiration of a limited POA does not apply if the expiration date occurs during the state’s Disaster Emergency and up to 10 days after the Disaster Emergency is lifted.

This change applies only to the sale, purchase or transfer of manufactured homes; no other vehicle types are included.

Other sections of Act 64 regarding insurers’ and dealers’ use of electronic powers of attorney take effect in 90 days.
